An EPIC Weekend

So this past weekend was EPIC's 2nd Annual Fun Fest...and it was definitely truly EPIC! :D Before I get started on that though, part of the EPICness actually started before meeting up with the team.

I took part in the Corporate Playhouse Challenge again this year, with Team Depot at 7132! :) Although we didn't win this year, it was still a lot of fun. :) Seeing my old coworkers again, having the satisfaction of building something...I really miss renovating. I can't help it, renovating is a hobby of mine. :) Anyways, so I started my day at 8am and I was supposed to meet the EPIC team at 3:30pm, but it took us until 3:30 to build the playhouse, so not having any time to shower or whatnot, I showed up to the EPIC work session with paint all over my hands/arms/hair/face/clothes. :) Oh, did I mention that it was my first time riding this year? So of course, having met the EPIC team in January, most of them didn't even know I had a motorcycle licence. :p For those who knew, they thought my scooter would be some dinky little thing. :p Anyways, apparently I was "right on time" because it was my turn to update the team on what HR was up to for EPIC. :) Shortly after that, we headed off to the restaurant to bond over lunch.

Lunch was very interesting and I must say, I got to know the people sitting at my table very well. :) Since our group was so huge, we had to split up into 2 tables. After a yummy lunch and our EPIC group photo, while the rest of the team headed off to the church where we were going to a music concert, I went home to shower. Only having about 20 minutes to get home, shower, and make it back to the concert, I made good time getting to the church at exactly 7pm. This is when Natasha, our Finance Diva, joined us as well. I met her outside the entrance and we went in together. Of course, by the time we got in, they were already 5 minutes into the concert so we took a seat at the very back. Natasha and I should never be left alone unsupervised. :) Some interesting thoughts were shared between us, and Rahul actually got dragged into the mess for awhile as well. :) In the middle of the concert, Rahul actually got to meet my cat, Kaylee, and fed her for me. He liked her. :) She even has her own Facebook Fan Page!

After the concert, part of our team headed off to Bubble Republic for some more bonding. I successfully made them all a bit more asian by teaching them very asian card games. :) Glad they liked playing though! They even got to see the LED lights on my scooter afterwards, but only Lucas was brave enough to get a ride. :) Anyways, all in all, a wonderful day spent with the EPIC team!
