Whoever started the saying "you gain some, you lose some" was definitely right. I was actually quite upset on Wednesday when Germany lost to Spain 1-0. The team I so strongly believed in and invested so much time and energy into watching their games actually lost. Luckily I was pulled out of that misery quickly when long-time family friends called my family over for a BBQ at their place that night. After several games of Monopoly Deal, I felt a lot better.

The next day, after a devastatingly long week waiting for NPPA results which were delayed, I spent 20 minutes on the phone with my brother, asking him to check my results and waiting for the HRPA website to load. To be honest, by then, I had no idea whether or not I actually passed. The exam was written so long ago that I don't even remember a single question and had no clue how I did. I'm happy to say that I did pass, scoring above average, and am now a Certified Human Resources Professional. :) Btw, I was quite shocked at the significant drop for the pass rate of the NPPA this sitting. Went from 83% to 63%. Here's a breakdown.

So after calling my parents to tell them that their daughter is amazing ;) I of course tweeted about it. :) Other than that and a quick email to my closest friends, I didn't tell anyone else. I'm not even sure how to react to it. Sure, I did all the standard things which were to change my website title to remove the "candidate" part and went to get new business cards printed for myself...but now what? I really hope they send me that letter explaining what exactly I'll need to do to keep my designation.

A call from a recruiter on Wednesday also made me realize that I should probably update my resume. It's been a good 6 months since my resume was updated and apparently wherever my resume is uploaded, it still says I'm a sales associate at Home Depot. Oh well.
